Free AI image detector with evidence
OpenDetect
OpenDetect tells you whether an image was made with AI, and instead of a made-up percentage score it shows the actual evidence. Drop in an image and it checks three signals a file cannot easily fake: Content Credentials (C2PA) provenance data, the file's own metadata, and OpenAI's SynthID watermark. Each signal is shown separately, in plain words, so you can see exactly which one fired and which did not, along with an explanation of what it means when a signal is missing - for example, most AI generators do not embed Content Credentials yet, so an absent signal is not proof either way. The tool reads PNG, JPEG, WebP and HEIC images. The analysis runs in your browser and the file never leaves your device, so it is safe for private or sensitive images. There is no sign-up and no account needed. Metadata and Content Credentials checks are completely free and unlimited, and on top of that you get up to 10 free OpenAI SynthID watermark checks a day. Built for journalists, moderators, marketplace buyers and anyone who needs to know if an image is real.
